As someone that is not a natural writer, it’s sometimes hard to express the emotions that you feel in the most eloquent way. It doesn’t matter how long you spend searching the thesaurus for new adjectives, you can’t find a way to bring it home. This is one of those times. To have the opportunity to work with Jay Leno and his incredible team, alongside our very young TVR Garage business, can only be described as a dream come true. A genuine “pinch yourself moment”. So even though it’s hard to capture, here we go……
As you might imagine, we arrived early, bright eyed and bushy tailed, and of course just a little bit nervous, to meet with the godfather of automotive commentary – a man recently named as one of the world’s top genuine ‘petrolheads’. As nerves blended with excitement, we were invited to unload and drive the cars into the studio. How I didn’t crash on the slow drive in is beyond me. Being presented with one of the most eclectic and diverse collections of automotive history with an excess of 200 + iconic vehicles ranging from priceless Bugattis to humble Lotus Sevens leaves you struggling to look ahead, but rotating your neck from side to side, with such vigor, you suspect your next call might be to your orthopedic surgeon.
The crew were incredibly welcoming, showing us around and talking us through the run-of-show for the day. Understanding more about what lay ahead, we relaxed into our surroundings, spending time perusing the collection while the team filmed b-roll. Mr Leno joined us and was so warm and knowledgeable about the brand, its history and TVR Garage that we were put at ease and felt like car-guy friends. We then began filming, so the rest you can see on the link below….
The future for TVR Garage and the TVR brand in the USA is certainly an exciting one, but this day will always remain as one of life’s most special experiences. We hope you enjoy as much as we did.
